South Africa made it 1-1 going into the third and final women's T20 international with a seven-wicket win over hosts Sri Lanka. Dane van Niekerk was the chief destroyer with four wickets as Sri Lanka were dismissed for 76 after choosing to bat.
Yasoda Mendis gave the hosts a flying start with 21 off 13 deliveries but Sri Lanka fell apart after Chloe Tryon dismissed the opener in the third over. Tryon struck again in her next over to send back Shashikala Siriwardene.
Van Niekerk took over, taking the next two wickets with her legspin after which Sri Lanka suffered three successive run-outs. Van Niekerk wrapped up the tail to end with 4 for 17, her best return in T20 internationals, as Sri Lanka lasted 14 overs.
Trisha Chetty went early in the chase but the following partnership of 38 between van Niekerk (22) and Lizelle Lee (18) settled it for South Africa. Though both of them fell in the 12th over, South Africa cruised to victory with 15 balls to spare.
