Roshan Abeysinghe has been part of the Electronic Media since 1995. Having started his career with a private Radio station, Abeysinghe then had the rare honour of covering the glorious World Cup triumph of Sri Lanka in 1996 from Lahore for Radio. Though he started his media career in the radio excelling in both English and Sinhala, Abeysinghe stepped in to the glamorous stage International TV commentary in 2000 when he was selected to be part of distinguished commentary team. Since then Abeysinghe has been a permanent feature in almost every international Sri Lankan game as a TV commentator and has worked for all the leading TV net works around the world. He is easily one of Sri Lanka's leading and recognizable voices of cricket, being highly sought after for radio net works such as the BBC TMS, ABC Grandstand, Radio Sport NZ, SABC South Africa etc. he also contribute regularly to many print medium columns too.
Though not representing Sri Lanka at cricket, Internationally, Abeysinghe carries over 20 years of playing experience of club cricket in the two day and one day formats. As an off spinner and a middle order batsman Abeysinghe has captained Ragama cricket club in their quest for glory. A product of St. Joseph's college Colombo where he first plied the trade of cricket, Abeysinghe has had plenty of experience in the field of Cricket Administration too, serving in the capacity of Chairman of the Tournament Committee in the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket as well as being the President of the Gampaha District Cricket Association which is the second largest cricket playing District in the country. Currently he is the President of Ragama Cricket club the only First class club in the Gampaha District.
