Uncapped Kenroy Peters replaces Roach

Left-arm seamer Kenroy Peters has been called up to replace Kemar Roach in the West Indies Test squad

Left-arm seamer Kenroy Peters has been called up to replace Kemar Roach in the West Indies Test squad. Roach, who injured his ankle on the first day of the first Test against South Africa in Centurion, will fly home to rehabilitate.
Peters, 32, has taken 190 wickets in 62 first-class matches at an average of 20.21. He was the top wicket-taker in the 2013-14 Regional Four Day Competition, with 40 wickets for Windward Islands at an average of 12.75. This season, he has picked up 13 wickets in four matches at 19.38, including a five-wicket haul against Guyana last month.
Roach pulled up with an ankle strain while running up to bowl the final ball of his 16th over in South Africa's first innings, and left the field. He did not bowl thereafter, nor did he bat in either of West Indies' innings in their defeat by an innings and 220 runs. While it was initially reported that his ankle suffered no major damage, Roach's condition worsened and he was ruled out of the Boxing Day Test in Port Elizabeth.
