scorecard
Callum Ferguson's 12th first-class hundred, an unbeaten 117, powered South Australia to a five-wicket win, after Tasmania set them a target of 289 on the final day at the Gliderol Stadium.
Ferguson, whose third ton in the tournament took him past 700 runs, was a central figure in three chunky partnerships; he added 75 runs for the second wicket with Kelvin Smith; 83 for the fourth with Travis Head; and 66 unbroken runs with Adam Zampa for the sixth.
At 225 for five, Tasmania might have fancied an opening, but Ferguson and Zampa, who scored two fifties in his last match, got the better of the visitors. Ferguson put the match to bed by striking a boundary off Jackson Bird, who had claimed four wickets in the first innings.
South Australia's chase was marked by fairly quick scoring, their run rate a healthy 3.68. Tasmania, too, had shown similar urgency, as they whipped up 88 runs in 11 overs to declare their innings. Beau Webster and Alex Doolan scored half-centuries in their 109-run alliance, before Ben Dunk played a breezy cameo of 35 from 23 balls.
