Spotlight shifts to Srinivasan, BCCI likely to meet

The arrest of Gurunath Meiyappan , the head of the Chennai Super Kings franchise, has turned the spotlight on to his father-in-law N Srinivasan, the BCCI president and managing director of India Cements, the franchise owner. It is not yet clear what Srinivasan's plans are - his immediate response to the news of Gurunath's arrest was to say he would not resign - but there appears to be a growing momentum towards a change at the top of the Indian board, which is likely to meet in Kolkata late on Saturday.

The BCCI will also have to address immediately the issue of what to do with the Chennai franchise and whether Super Kings should play Sunday's final, though at this point there is no indication that the final will be cancelled.
