Imrul to replace injured Anamul

Imrul Kayes will leave Dhaka on Thursday evening as replacement for the injured Anamul Haque. The ICC has approved the change.*

Imrul will reach Adelaide on Friday, the same day the Bangladesh squad leave from Nelson. He has played four matches for Victoria Sporting Club in the Dhaka Premier Division 50-over tournament and averaged 36.25 late last year. But recently, in first-class cricket he averaged 64.25 in six matches with two centuries. He had just finished playing for Khulna Division's against Dhaka Metropolis on Thursday afternoon when he had to rush back to Mirpur for his flight.

Anamul injured his right shoulder while stopping a ball at the long leg boundary during in the 31st over of a match against Scotland. He immediately rolled over and called for help, and was taken to a local hospital for scans. At the post-match press conference the team physiotherapist said that Anamul's condition was being monitored and was diagnosed with a grade 3 joint strain. It is yet to be decided whether his treatment would continue in Nelson or Hamilton, venue of Bangladesh's last group match on March 13.

Anamul had so far made 29 each against Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. He also had a terrible outing at the MCG, dropping a catch and missing a run-out. He was more active on the field in Nelson until picking up the injury.

Mashrafe Mortaza had also felt a pulled calf muscle during the Scotland game. He had not finished his set of 10 overs and had been seen hobbling in the field, but hopes to regain fitness in time for the game against New Zealand in eight days' time.
