Hopes and Feldman put Queensland on top

Queensland 1 for 73 v Tasmania 217 (Wells 47, Hopes 4-14, Feldman 4-69)
Scorecard
Ryan Harris went wicketless but Queensland finished the first day on top of their clash with Tasmania at Allan Border Field. James Hopes and Luke Feldman picked up four wickets each as the Tigers were dismissed for 217, before Queensland reached 1 for 73 in reply, with Joe Burns on 29 and Usman Khawaja on 31.
The only wicket to fall for the Bulls was opener Marnus Labuschagne, who was caught off Sam Rainbird for 10. The Tasmania top order had struggled earlier in the day after George Bailey won the toss and chose to bat, with Ed Cowan, Jordan Silk and Alex Doolan all falling cheaply to leave the Tigers at 3 for 30.
Bailey (31) and Jon Wells (47) rebuilt somewhat, and James Faulkner chipped in with 35, but Queensland kept breaking through regularly. Hopes finished with the remarkable figures of 4 for 14 from 20 overs, and Feldman picked up 4 for 69. Harris, who was named in Australia's Test squad on Monday, had 0 for 51 from his 13 overs.
