Queensland batsman Chris Lynn will miss the first half of the domestic season after having surgery on his injured shoulder on Tuesday. Lynn had an operation to repair a rotator cuff injury to his left shoulder, which had caused him problems for some time and was aggravated during his recent stint playing with Australia A.
As a result, he will miss the entire domestic one-day competition and the start of the Sheffield Shield campaign, and is targeting a comeback around the start of the BBL in December. The injury is a blow to Queensland given that Lynn was their second leading run scorer in the Ryobi Cup last summer and helped the Bulls to the title.
"There's never a good time to be injured but the goal is to be ready in time for the BBL if all goes to plan," Lynn said. "The surgeon was happy with how things went and the Queensland medical staff are pleased it all seems to have gone to plan.
"I'm pretty sore at the moment, and having spoken to a few people who have been down the same road, I know that there is plenty of hard work ahead. But I'm confident I will be up to getting back to full fitness and playing some good cricket for Queensland and the Heat in the second half of the season."
